Marriage Tribunal Information

When two individuals have entered into and experienced a failed marriage, one, the other, or both of them find that in reflecting on the marriage (in hindsight of the separation and divorce) they want to know if the marriage bond that failed was valid in the eyes of the church.

They therefore pursue the opportunity of having their marriage reviewed at the Arch/Diocesan Tribunal for a ruling on the validity of the Sacramental bond of that marriage.

It is then that a person takes the time and space to reflect on and review their experience with an Advocate and walk the journey of the process which strives to view the human marriage through the lens of whether a valid Sacramental bond had developed.

This is often difficult for friends, family and other parishioners to grasp and yet, often, the family and friends saw "red flags" in the potential union back in the courtship and early married life of their loved ones.  Individuals who knew the couple well at those times are often to act as witnesses in the process.
